What is Mazooma?

Mazooma is a patent pending service that allows you to pay for online purchases in real time directly from your bank – the financial institution you know and trust.


How does Mazooma work?

Mazooma is secure and convenient because it works with your existing online banking service.

  1. Shop for goods and services at an online merchant.
  2. Select Mazooma when you are ready to pay. 
  3. Sign in to your Mazooma account or enter your basic information. 
  4. Select the Financial Institution that you want to pay from (note: you will need to be registered for online banking).
  5. Login to online banking with your usual user ID and password.
  6. Approve the payment to complete your purchase.
  7. Click “return to merchant”
  8. Print your receipt.

Why is Mazooma a more secure way to pay?

You do not need to provide any financial information, card numbers or login information to the online merchant.
You use your existing online banking service with your usual user ID and password.
The payment is completed through the financial institution you know and trust.

Who can use Mazooma?

Anyone who has a bank account at one of the supported financial institutions can use Mazooma.


How do I sign up?

There is no need to sign up ahead of time.  You can sign up from the checkout page of any merchant that offers Mazooma or click here to sign up now. 


Where can I use Mazooma?

It is up to each online merchant to decide which payment options it wants to offer its customers. Mazooma is available to all online merchants that do business in the U.S.


Are there any fees?

Mazooma does not charge you any fees. Your financial institution may charge you online banking or bill payment transaction fees. Please refer to your service agreement with your bank.


What if I don't have online banking?

It is easy to get access to online banking. Simply contact your Financial Institution or visit their website to inquire about receiving your user ID and password. Click here for a list of supported financial institutions.


Can I use Mazooma on any computer?

Yes, you can use Mazooma on any computer where you can access the Internet and your financial institution's online banking service.
Always make sure you are careful with your passwords when using a public computer.

Why is my supported financial institution not on the drop-down menu when I am doing a transaction?

Sometimes one or more of the supported financial institutions is temporarily removed from the drop-down menu to allow Mazooma to perform maintenance and upgrades to the service. If your supported financial institution is not on the list, please check back later. It will be added back to the list when the maintenance/upgrade is complete.


Who do I contact if I have a question?

If you have questions or concerns about the goods or services that you have purchased using Mazooma (such as: delivery time, shipping options, product information etc.) please contact the online merchant.
If you have questions about your Mazooma payment (e.g. limits, your account, processing times etc.) that cannot be answered by the online merchant, please contact our support department.


What if I need to return my purchase? How do I get my money back?

Return policies vary according to each merchant, so it is important that you check each merchant’s return/refund policy prior to making your purchase. If the merchant has a refund policy in place and a refund transaction is processed the funds will be credited back to your bank account.


What if I'm a victim of fraud?

The ongoing security of our service is our highest priority.  There are actions that you can take as well. You are encouraged to regularly check your bank statements to verify that all transactions have been properly documented. If there are missing or additional transactions you should contact your financial institution.

How does the Mazooma charity contribution work?

Mazooma donates a portion of its proceeds from each transaction to the charity chosen by the customer from the available list. The donation comes from Mazooma funds, not from the customer's account. There is no cost to the customer.


How do I change my selected charity?

Login to your Mazooma account and click on the "Change Your Charity" link in on your account profile page.
