No, you don’t need a credit or debit card to use Mazooma. We enable you to pay for purchases online in much the same way as you’d pay a bill using online banking, except it’s easier because you don’t need to set Mazooma up as a payee.

Users must be in the U.S. and have a bank account set up with online bill pay at one of our supported banks. You don’t need to sign up for an account ahead of time, either. Sign up in seconds during your first purchase with Mazooma.

Mazooma Account Management

Yes, but you don’t need to sign up ahead of time. You can sign up in seconds during your first transaction with Mazooma.
Once you create an account, you can sign in on Mazooma’s
full site to access your account details and transaction history.

No, funds stay in your bank until you make a payment and are never uploaded to your Mazooma account. Some online payment options store funds in an account (for example, PayPal), but Mazooma connects users directly to their online banking during checkout.

No, Mazooma does not charge users any fees. However, banks may charge their clients online banking or bill payment transaction fees. It is recommended that you refer to the service agreement with your bank for details.

Mazooma donates a portion of its proceeds from each transaction to the charity of your choice. The donation comes from Mazooma funds—there is no cost to you.

Security FAQs

No. At no point is your bank data stored on any device such as a hard drive or database.

The only people who have access to your banking info are bank employees. Mazooma doesn’t log or store bank credentials, so our employees can’t access this information or share it with the online merchant.

No. You can’t put any money in your Mazooma account, so your Mazooma User ID and password cannot be used to access any money.
And, a payment can’t be made with your Mazooma account because a person would also require your online banking user ID and password, and the answer to your bank’s security question.

We do everything possible to ensure the ongoing security of our service. We recommend that you be vigilant in protecting yourself from fraud as well.

Return policies vary by merchant, so it is important that you check the merchant’s return/refund policy or contact their customer support directly.
If the merchant issues a refund, your money will be credited back to your bank account.
